The Aquaquest Bivy Bag has factory taped waterproof seams and is constructed with a specially treated 70-D RipStop Nylon upper which boasts a Waterproofness performance rating of 10,000 mm Hydro-static Resistance, and a Breathability rating of 3,000 g/m2/day. The Bivi bag has long side zips on both sides to suit left and right zippered sleeping bags, and facilitate easy access, and cooling / ventilation adjustment if desired. The tub floor bottom of the bag is made of a heavy duty waterproof, non breathable fabric, designed to function as a moisture and water barrier. Easy to use – just remove it from the its drawstring bag, lay it down, and put your sleeping bag inside. It is usable by itself under the stars, under a fly tent, or inside any other shelter, such as a tent, boat, or hut etc. The Aquaquest Bivie Bag adds an additional protective layer to your sleeping bag system. It will provide important insulation when exposed to the wind, it will provide waterproof protection from rain and dew, it will help keep your sleeping bag stay clean, and it will provide additional warmth insulation. A Bivy bag can increase the performance / temperature rating of your sleeping bag / sleeping system by around 5 degrees Celcius. If you are out under the stars and its cold and wet, you can cover your head with Bivy Bag hood and pull the drawstring tight to minimize your exposure to the elements. In normal conditions, all of these attributes sum to provide additional comfort and utility; in extreme conditions they sum to survival essentials. The Bivy Bag can be used in conjunction with one of our Fly Tents to acquire additional protection from the elements. The Aquaquest Bivy Bag design provides more usable space than most Bivi Bags- it is made extra wide to allow for maximum comfort, and its long enough to comfortably fit anybody up to 6’6” (2m). It is very lightweight, weighing just 575 grams, and it easily packs down to the small size of 38cm x 13cm x 8 cm, and it can be compressed further to 16.5cm x 10cm x 8cm.
